Description

This cottage is super quiet and quite private except for the birds and waves. When you open the front door, there is a full bank of floor to ceiling windows overlooking Lake Huron. It is breathtaking and makes this 800 square foot cottage seem a lot bigger.

The eat-in kitchen is clean and bright with everything you need to prepare meals in. Fridge,Stove, Microwave etc. Seating for 5 at the island so you can chat with the chef and enjoy a meal together, all the while looking at the lake. Off to the side of the cottage is a covered deck where you can cook a great meal using the propane bar-b-que. You'll find the perfect space for dining outdoors with a beautiful teak table. There's also bar top seating for 4 which also overlooks the lake. A sectional couch makes this another cozy place to unwind and enjoy nature. The Living room has a 50" SmartTV with DVD and electric fireplace with sweeping views of the the lake. Even on a rainy day it's so cool to watch a movie and the storm!

There are 3 bedrooms - master bedroom offers a queen sized Tempurpedic bed and glass doors lead to deck and view of lake. The other 2 bedrooms each have bunk beds twin over double with new mattresses.

Glass doors lead out to the deck where Muskoka chairs invite you to relax in the sun, sounds and views of the lake. Approximately 15 steps down to your own beach (90feet). There are no weeds and it's fun to find the ever changing sandbars. Have a campfire on the beach, count the stars and watch the PointClark lighthouse.

Check In: 3pm Check Out: 11am Parking: Room for 2 vehicles Guests may use anything in the cottage and on property.
Guest interaction: We will not be present, unless required. But you can reach us by phone or email anytime.

Towel and bed linens are provided except beach towels.

ONE Pet is allowed (well behaved, and should be leashed). There are lots of other friendly dogs in the area and may come to visit. You must properly dispose of "daily routines" and sign Pet contract.

The shoreline changes quite rapidly but there has always been a beach. There are no weeds and it's fun to find the ever changing sandbars. Have a campfire on the beach, count the stars and watch the PointClark lighthouse. Lake Huron is also great for stone collecting too. You may see a bald eagle in the area, as well as the resident family of peacocks. Take a walk up the lane and visit the resident goats - you are welcome to feed them. Here you will notice on the pole our community library Take a Book, Give a Book.

Watch the most beautiful sunsets in the world from your private beach, or the deck, or the living room and even the kitchen. Truly this is the Sundown Sanctuary!

Great location, couldn't be any closer to the water.

“Jennifer is an awesome host - she has thought of everything! It's so nice to have the bedding and towels taken care of. Great location, couldn't be any closer to the water. Comfy and spacious covered eating area too. Very clean and welcoming. Look forward to going back soon.”

Spacious and Comfortable

Three generations stayed at Sundown Sanctuary for a week. The cottage included everything we could possibly need; we particularly enjoyed the floaty Canada flag at the beach. Memorable sunsets, of course, and waves to watch and even some fossils among the beach pebbles. Loved it!

We had such an enjoyable weekend and would love to return someday!

“My girlfriends and I had an amazing four-night stay at Jennifer’s place this past weekend. The minute we arrived, we were floored by how beautiful her place is - not only is the location wonderful, but the cottage layout is perfect. The living area feels 10x larger than it actually is, thanks to the massive wall of windows overlooking the lake. We spent countless hours out on the deck, which is second to none - I’ve never seen an Airbnb with such a beautiful outdoor living space! The house was spotless, and it was quite evident that Jennifer takes great care of her property. Jennifer was always quick to respond to any questions we had leading up to our stay, and the check-in/check-out process was seamless. Jennifer, thank you so much for facilitating this experience for my group - we had such an enjoyable weekend and would love to return someday. 10/10 I would recommend to any prospective cottagers - don’t miss out on this gem!”

Sit outside for most of the day watching and listening to the waves. (Amazing!)

This is a great cottage for being right on the water as well as being in a very private, woodsy setting. Although the weather was cool, the sun on the deck was very warm and we were able to sit outside for most of the day watching and listening to the waves. (Amazing!). The beds were comfortable and although it’s a small space it worked for my family of 4. Jennifer was very friendly, easy to communicate with and quick to respond to any questions that we had. The location would be ideal during the summer to fully enjoy the outdoor space and the beach.

We came to this cottage with 3 little ones (4 month old, 2 and 3 year old) and had an amazing time. There was more then enough room for us with everything that we needed. The private beach was amazing and sunsets were the best. We loved the stars at night, actually saw many shooting stars. I highly recommend this for any family.
