The name comes from the willow tree on the beach. It's a perfect place to spend the day on the beach under a willow tree!

There is a huge wraparound the front deck. Cottage is open concept. There is a sun room as well as Great Room with wood burning fireplace. Sun room has a brand new grey double pullout couch . And in the living area of Great room there is another leather couch and chair looking out through the new patio door. There are 2 dining areas inside which makes it perfect for a large family dinner OR you can eat at one without having to pack up your game/puzzle. ALL have large windows overlooking the lake. Lots of space for everyone! Kitchen is clean and bright - even doing dishes is not a chore because the sink overlooks the lake! here is also a firepit where the family can gather round and watch the sunset, eat smores and tell loads of ghost stories.  Wood is provided and there is a "donation jar".

Entrance to the beach is just south of the cottage, it is a green space you walk down. The beach in front of the cottage is gravelly but changes after every storm.  And there is a huge willow tree. You can walk a long ways down the beach.  There is also a second beach entrance at the end of the street. Outdoor hot/cold shower

Lots of parking, lots of grassy outdoor areas, a playground and the cottage has wifi.

The cottage sleeps 8 in 3 bedrooms plus a sleeper sofa. There are 3 bedrooms: 2 with Queen beds and another with a double 1 set of single bunkbeds. And 3 piece bathroom is new.

Extras at the cottage include a SmartTV with netflix and Wi-Fi. We especially love the comfortable outdoor furnishings the homeowners chose for the lake-view patio—you can easily spend a long, lazy afternoon curled up there, overlooking the water. The back deck is new in 2019 complete with outdoor kitchen!

NOTE: This year 2019 we still had a beach in the summer but there hasn't been any this fall. I'm expecting very little beach this year 2020

Both Grand Bend and Bayfield are within a 10-minute drive of the cottage, making it easy to stroll Bayfield's quaint Main Street (and catch one of the world's best sunsets at Pioneer Park) or take to the water in Grand Bend with its sandy, lifeguarded beaches and watersport rentals. Sample both Grand Bend's nightlife and Bayfield's boutique shopping, and visit the farmers markets in either town to pick up local ingredients for dinner. Or let someone else do the cooking—both towns have plenty of options, from fine dining to casual pub fare.

awesome stay

The cottage was great - clean, well equipped and lots of room for everyone. We especially enjoyed the deck for a great view of the lake while eating and playing board games.

The cottage, surroundings and location were ideal. It was a family holiday and worked out perfect. We were able to spend most of our time outside both during the day and in the evenings. The sunsets were stunning and access to the water worked out very well.

We had an awesome week at Willowcrest. The view is simply unbelieveable, the constant sound of the waves is so relaxing and therapeutic and freinndly reminder of the beauty of nature. Grandaughters aged 2 and 4 enjoyed the swings and playing & dancing on the great deck. You could actually live outside, you could cook, eat, wash your dishes and shower outside. I even slept a couple hours on the deck couch. The place is very clean, and I was pleased to have cleaning supplies and tools to clean. We liked the Friday to Friday renting as opposed to Saturdays. you get settled in on Friday and wake up feeling like you're on vacation and you have the weekend at the cottage. We definitely want to rent again next year.
